UKFL© was launched in December 2017.
The founding board, totalling 30 years experience aspire to bring an alternative league for flyball racing to the UK. Their passion, dedication and knowledge of the sport meant the birth of the UKFL©
Our aim is to build a safe, fun, and inclusive environment throughout the league. All events will remain fair and consistent. We aim to cater for every preference of flyball racing, be it racing surface or competition formats. Through our committee, rules and judges the UKFL© can offer all of this now and sustainably for the future. Our emphasis will always be on safety, support, progression and positivity.
Offering the latest in measuring systems technology, whilst keeping us inline with other organisations, the UKFL© are excited to be introducing the ulna measure which will reduce stress levels for both handlers and dogs. Also this new system will provide more accuracy and minimise variables.
Progression of the sport is key to us, we welcome all to come and try this fast, furious and exhilarating sport with us.
To compete in UKFL competitions dogs must be 15 months of age or older.
All UKFL sanctioned tournaments run in accordance with the UKFL rules, and all dogs and handlers must be registered with UKFL to enter the ring.
You can find out more about the UKFL and its teams on www.ukflyball.org.uk
League Teams All dogs must race with the primary team that they are registered to. You can have any mix of breeds within a team.
Tag Teams and Sync Teams
Singles and Pairs
Multi-breed Tournaments Teams must contain 4 different breeds of dog (all cross-breeds count as one breed), with only one dog of each breed actively racing in the team at any one time.
Little League and Pre Cadet A way for new dogs and handlers to be introduced to a competition setting. Dogs must be at least 12 months old, and the ring is set up the same as for a league tournament, however wings and/or netted lanes can be used at the side of, or between jumps to help guide the dogs. Dogs don't have to trigger the box and boxloaders can give the dogs plenty of encouragement. Younger dogs benefit from lower jumps irrespective of their own height.
Flyball Awards As well as winning rosettes dependent on your final position in the division at a tournament, UKFL points are awarded to each of the dogs racing in a leg of a league competition provided that all four dogs complete the leg without error. Awards are awarded to dogs throughout their flyball career.
Under 30 seconds on a clean run each dog that ran gains 10 points each.
Winning the leg gains an extra 5 points for each dog that ran.
